The latest in a series of programmes by the BBC asks the question: “Credit Crash Britain: Property – is it the end of the affair?”If you ever worried about renting a home being more expensive than buying, then this episode actually claims that ins some cases, renting could actually be cheaper than buying a home!

The programme featured, Mike Goddard, our Chief Executive, who has been renting for several years and wants to continue to rent. However Mike found it impossible to continue renting as he couldn’t secure a long term rental agreement required to make spending money on the rental property worthwhile.

Mike firmly believes that renting a property should be a real choice over home ownership, now and in the future, but this can only be achieved if rental agreements can be geared toward the long term tenant who may want to make changes to their rental home, or want more than a six month agreement for peace of mind and security.
