Cheltenham started as a small Anglo-Saxon village over 1200 years ago and not until 1716 did it become a popular Spa town. This led to the rapid development of Cheltenham in the late 18th and early 19th Century and the heritage of this can be seen in the town's Regency Architecture.
Today Cheltenham is favourably known as the Centre for the Cotswolds, with a very attractive regency town centre, which is renowned for quality shopping by day and a wide variety of nightlife or entertainment to suit all tastes. It also attracts significant business and commerce due to its location within Gloucestershire, the South Midlands and South West of England.
Cheltenham is situated in the heart of the Cotswolds but lies within the main motorway network and the important London, Bristol, Birmingham triangle. Situated on the M5 at J10, J11 & J11a , there are also easy routes to join some of the main arteries to London being the M4 and M40.
Cheltenham is well served by rail including direct services to and from London, Birmingham, Plymouth, Manchester, Leeds, Edinburgh and Glasgow - to name a few!
Cheltenham has a small local airport for charter jets and helicopters. It is also well served by Birmingham International and Bristol Airport, which are both less than 50 miles away, London Heathrow itself is also less than 90 miles away.
