Gold award for Best Lettings Franchise at the Lettings Agency of the Year Awards 2012 in association with The Sunday Times & The Times.
A local Swansea couple who took the plunge to set up their own property lettings franchise with national specialists, Belvoir, have triumphed after their first year in business.
Ben Davies and Daisy Hewitt were announced Belvoir’s New Franchise of the Year 2012 Silver Award winners at the company’s annual ‘High achievers’ ceremony staged at the Belton Woods Hotel near Grantham, Lincolnshire.
And it was a double celebration for the couple, since they only announced their engagement weeks before the awards evening, which was presented by renowned TV wit, writer, actor and raconteur Gyles Brandreth, alongside Belvoir’s Chief Executive Officer, Dorian Gonsalves.
Paying tribute to Ben and Daisy, whose office is at 29 Castle Street, Swansea, Dorian said: ”Ben and Daisy opened our second ever office in Wales and achieved break even within their first twelve months of trading.
“They are not only here celebrating being winners of one of our top award categories, but recently became engaged – so on that note we can all raise a glass to the happy couple.
“The New Franchise of the Year award category is one which every new member of our company wants to win, so this prize was hotly contested.
“Ben and Daisy have shown incredible enthusiasm, passion and complete dedication to building a successful business with Belvoir and they richly deserve this recognition”
Daisy said: ”Ben and I knew the local lettings market very well before we opened here and we felt confident that we were in a good position to offer highly professional advice to potential landlords and tenants, since renting gives people far more flexibility in their lives.
“We identified a gap in the market for a quality lettings specialist and with the excellent backing, development and support systems which Belvoir provides, we have been able to prosper in a relatively short space of time,” said Ben.
“We love what we do and we’re absolutely delighted to have won,” Daisy added. ”Ben and I work very well together and are a great team, so I’d like to thank him, plus all of our friends and family for supporting us throughout. The hard work has all been worth it when we get a pat on the back like this.”
