Energy Performance Certificates
From October 1st 2008 landlords marketing a property to rent will be required by law to provide prospective tenants with an Energy Performance Certificate (EPC) for their property.
EPC's must be made available to prospective tenants when marketing the property, to allow tenants to compare the energy efficiency of properties when making a decision about where to rent.
EPC's remain valid for 10 years, so you won't need to get a new one for each change of tenant or tenancy.
Also, properties with tenants in-situ as of October 1st 2008 will not need an EPC immediately, however one will be required when next advertising for a new tenant.
EPC's must be provided by fully trained & accredited Domestic Energy Assessors - we can arrange for one to be provided at a highly competetive rate.
