Tenancy deposit protection became mandatory for UK landlords in April 2007 - with heavy penalties for non-compliance. The scheme aims to safeguard the tenant`s deposit and provides a dispute resolution at the end of the tenancy if landlord and tenant cannot agree

• Belvoir Harrogate are registered members of the Tenancy Deposit Scheme (TDS) and will join new Landlords automatically and free of charge

For the let only service

• Landlords will have to join one of the three available schemes in order to handle their own deposits.
