Eastbourne "The Sunshine Coast"

The beautiful town of Eastbourne is situated just east of the famous Beachy Head which ensures it has the highest sun hours of most seaside towns within the country. It has a wonderful mix of both young and old inhabitants who live and work in this busy town, which has excellent road and rail links to London and Brighton. The seafront is famous for its beautiful hotels and carpet gardens, with bracing walks all the way to Beachy Head along the seafront to the beautiful South Downs.

Eastbourne is host to some of the largest events in the country some of these being the Eastbourne pre-Wimbledon tennis tournament for both Men and Women attracting some of the worlds top players within this sport and is a huge pull for the town during this tournament, this usually take place from the second and third week of June, it is probably the best way to start the season with champagne, strawberries and cream.  

By far the largest event which Eastbourne hosts every year is Airbourne, Airbourne is the biggest seafront airshow in the world! and takes place every August for 4 days. Some of the worlds finest pilots perform death defying moves which are guaranteed to take your breath away and gives you a chance to view some of the worlds best fighter aircraft. There are many other stunt teams and everyone`s favourite of course the Red Arrows complete the grand finale, together with a free firework display in the evening makes this a must see event for all ages.

There really is something for everyone in Eastbourne and theatre goers are no exception. With some of the best West End shows coming down to Eastbourne on a regular basis and top cabaret acts and singers, you are spoilt for choice.

The jewel in the crown is Eastbourne Marina, currently one of the largest marina`s in Europe consisting of around 800 berths, it is myriad of private homes and apartments set by the waterside and a fantastic array of bars and restaurants consisting of tastes from around the world, where you can sip your favourite drink whilst watching the boats sail by, on those warm sunny days you could be forgiven for thinking you were in the South of France.
